Who are the Friends of Knighton Park?
We are a voluntary group whose aim is to preserve and improve Knighton Park and its facilities for the benefit of all current and future visitors. The group has a committee of 15 and a growing membership of over 200.
What does the Friends group do?
The committee, on behalf of members, works with Leicester City Council to promote the Park. We actively fund raise and apply for grants to enhance facilities within the park. We also participate in the organisation and running of events on the park.
A brief history of the Friends of Knighton Park
The group began in 1994 as Knighton Park Watch, but grew in strength to become Friends of Knighton Park in 1997. Since then we have gained momentum and are now the longest established 'Friends' group within the city.
