Why we love our park

Here are some of the reasons why love Knighton Park so much:

Nature - The Heath Garden is a wonderful example of the variety of plants that we have concentrated in luscious surroundings. There are many things to discover within the Park such as brookside walks, spinneys, heath garden with pond, tree trail, along with a wonderful range of plants & shrubs. There is also an active Gardening Club who's members designed and now maintain the beautiful Sensory Garden.

Families - With two different play areas for children of all ages including sandplay there is every reason to head to Knighton Park. The wide open spaces are ideal for a game of football and there is a good range of walking routes. In the finer weather the picnic areas are the perfect place to enjoy a spot of lunch with the family. In winter the grounds provide opportunities for fun in the snow!

Events - There are many events in the Park during the year. The very popular summer community day is held early September each year. In addition there are also sponsored walks, treasure trails, gardening activities and bands to listen to. See the Events page on the menu for more details.

Exercise - The installation of an outdoor gym offers a good selection of resistance based exercise machines which are free to use all year round and in any weather. There are also tennis courts, table tennis, pitch & putt, orienteering, running and walking routes, running track (summer only), football pitches and cricket.
